Loving is not so easy to do...

The Lord commands us to love.  The Lord is love.  Do we love as we should?  Do we love enough?  Do we love?  What is love?

Love the word love is thrown around without much thought.  I love chocolate ice cream!  I love to go camping!  I would love to see that movie!  I love you!  Do we really love?

Love is hard to do to its fullest.  The Lord loves us as we are here today.  Could we love ourselves?  Think about what you might have done yesterday or today to anyone.  Think of past things that you might have done to hurt someone.  Think of what someone else has done to hurt you.  The Lord is willing to forgive these mistakes but are we so easily forgiving to others?

Eugene Peterson's interpretation of the famous love passage in Paul's first letter to the church of Corinth:

Love never gives up.
Love care more for others than for self.
Love doesn't want what it doesn't have.
Love doesn't strut,
Doesn't have a swelled head,
Doesn't force itself on others,
Doesn't revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end (1Corinthians 13:4-7 MSG)

I am convicted!

Lord, show me how to love as you love.  I want to be more like Jesus! I want to love as your Word tells us to love.  In Jesus Name I pray!

Amen!

How awesome He is! All glory and honor be yours Almighty Father! Have a great and blessed day my brothers and sisters!
