Delight yourself in the Lord

The word delight means to gain great pleasure, satisfaction, and happiness.  That is exactly the kind of relationship we all seek on a daily basis.  It is exactly the type of relationship our Loving God Almighty seeks to have with you.

Have you ever just sat in a room and enjoyed the company of another without saying a word.  If not, I invite you to try it.  Take a few minutes today with a child, spouse, friend, or other loved one and sit, silently, or allow them to speak to you.  Think positively about what this person means to you.  Love them in your heart, mind, and soul.  Watch your relationship flower from this beautiful moment.

This is exactly what our Awesome God wants from us.  He wants us to delight in His presence.  He wants us to delight in His creation.  He wants us to delight in Him.  Likewise He wants to delight in us.

Did you ever hear it said it takes two to tango...?  Well likewise with the Lord, it takes Him and you to develop a solid, trusting, delightful relationship.  Just because He may not be physically present right next to you does not mean He does not expect us to think of Him, be with Him, communicate with Him...

Because of His lack of physical presence with us as a human being it is also why we neglect Him the most in our lives.

Now, take some time alone away from the hectic day. Sit back, close your eyes, and meditate.  Meditate on the Lord's goodness.  His creations:  family, friends, the trees, the sky, the house He has provided for you, the job He has secured for you, the monies He willingly allows you to obtain.....the list is endless.  You have many blessings in your life regardless of what circumstances you have gone through or are going through or will go through.  Put these differences and trials aside for a moment and delight in the Lord so that He may bring peace and happiness to you.  Imagine Him sitting right next to you holding your hand or putting His arm around your shoulder.  Thank Him for His blessings, love, and mercy.  Thank Him for His Son, Jesus and for sending His Holy Spirit to guide us.  Thank Him for whatever comes to mind and allow your heart and mind and soul to delight in Him. Feel your spirit lift higher and higher as the Lord loves you back.

God Bless you today and everyday!

Mary Ludolph
