Are you still going it alone?

Why do we continually go it alone in our lives when God has so made it so clear that He is here to provide for us?   Why do we make things harder for ourselves by trying to complete accomplishments on our own?

I have been going through a financial crisis this year.  In debt and my husband barely working and attempting to make a small income on the internet to pay off some bills and help out, I have given these circumstances to God many times.

God had provided me a solution to some bill payments for at least a few months.  God had made it known to me what business inquisitions I could follow through with on the internet.  When provided with this solution and information, I went a step further and kept investing in other programs along with those that God had provided.  What do you think happened when I complicated the matter and made decisions on my own without thoughtful prayer?

Failure.  Now I am back to scrimping to pay a bill.  Missing payments.  Debts not forgiven.  Why?

Disobedience.  Lacking the patience to pray and wait for the Lord's answers.  Greed.  Pride.  And, oh boy, did I complicate things.  God made it so simple for me.  But I questioned how a simple investment could return multitudes.  I questioned how it would ever be possible to acquire my monthly payments from such simple means.  I neglected to await His answer or just disregarded His answer.  I wanted more.  I thought I knew better than He.  How foolish of me!

The Lord made it simple.  I questioned.  I took matters into my own hands.  I complicated things.  I was disobedient and now I need to pay the price for those errors in judgment.

The beautiful thing about this scenario that occurs all too often in our lives is that God is all so forgiven.  He forgives us over and over.  Just as He expects us to forgive one another.

He may not supply us with the neat, simple resolution He originally planned for us but He will provide.  He will provide the comfort and peace needed to get through the financial dilemma or whatever the crisis may be in your life.  He may provide a means to pay off the bills or He may not.  But in the end it is our faith and love that grows toward Him.  He opens our eyes to what is really important.

These situations are allowed in our lives by Him so that we may draw closer to Him.  With either draw nearer allowing Him to take care of the circumstance and reap the blessings He has awaiting us.  Or we push Him away and go it alone and we fall deeper into a calamity, prolonging the inevitable failure that will come our way by being independent of ourselves.

So do not hesitate.  Accepting Jesus Christ gives us the opportunity to give our burdens to the Lord and allow Him to bless us with His amazing grace.  Go to the Lord today with that pressing problem, speak to Him, and await His answer.  It may take a day or a week or even a month to receive a resolution to that problem.  But believe me He knows what He is doing.  He is already setting up a means to provide for you.  And He will make it simpler than the complicated lives we try to lead on our own.

God Bless!
