Who me Perfect? Not!

Sometimes in life I have felt that I am not who I claim to be a Christian, a child of God....due to my tendency to bitterness, depression, and anger towards others.  The whole it is not fair attitude.  Or the fact that I still have those really bad days and can become so consumed with my own pity.

These thoughts I have stream from those around me who have the notion that Christians believe they are perfect people without fault.  But that is not so.

I know that my God is a loving, merciful, and just God who forgives each and everyone of us even when we slip and fall. He reminds me of His forgiveness each and every time I think, Lord, how can I forgive this person once again for the misery they have caused or the pain they have caused.  His response is "Mary, have I not forgiven you for the pain and hurt you have inflicted upon me?"

Just because I am Christian does not make me perfect.  Just because I believe in God does not mean I do not have the ability to sin.  Each and everyday is a new day in which we try to move closer to the likeness of God.  Building ourselves and each other up upon His love.

I am a Christian.  I love the Lord Jesus.  And I know that it is through Him that I have become a better person, not perfect, but more loving, kind, just, merciful.

This morning I read this portion from "Battlefield of the Mind" by Leslie Parrot and it made me feel so much better about myself.
The human predicament is always intermingled with God's glory.  (1) "Troubled....yet not distressed (2Cor. 4:8).  The Christian may be at his wit's end, but he is never without hope.  (2) "Perplexed, but not in despair" (2Cor 4:8).  The Christian is never in a corner where there is no way out.  (3)  "Persecuted but not forsaken" (v.9).  The Christian may be in trouble, but he is never abandoned.  The Psalmist wrote, "When my father and mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up" (Ps. 27:10).  This balance between God's power and our power must have prompted Paul to write, "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us" (2Cor. 4:7)"

So if you are a Christian and you are feel remorse by your actions remember you are not perfect only God is.

If you have not accepted Christ into your life, do not allow yourself to not move forward with accepting Him just because you are afraid you cannot live up to expectations.  None of us are perfect.  We love each other no matter what the others fault is because one is not better than the other.  No matter what you did or do the Lord God and myself will forgive you because that is what love is all about...unconditional.  Move forward to Christ today and allow Him to love you...take Him into your heart.  He will make you feel so good about yourself.

Your Loving Friend in Christ.
