Why do I feel insecure?

Do you know where your insecurities may have originated? There are a number of factors that could be that answer to your freedom from insecurity. Some you may have forgotten about but they still haunt and affect your everyday life without your conscious knowledge. How evil Satan can be to play on our emotions and livelihood like that. He knows sometimes better than us what really gets us down and out giving us the inability to be the joyful, sharing, loving person we were meant to be.

Reflect on these common causes:

1.) Unacceptance. When we grow up thinking no one really likes us, we turn into shy, unconfident, withdrawn adults.

2.) Tragedy. Loss of a loved one, broken homes and other scars caused by unhealthy relationships can leave us feeling unwanted, unloved, unworthy.

3.) Appearance. Physical scars, birthmarks, body shape, hair loss any of these and more can leave us feeling inadequate, unattractive. We may be left with a feeling of shame and self-conscious that affects all interactions with others.

4.) Overshadowed. Trying to live in the limelight of others can be very destructive to our self esteem. You become so preoccupied with living up to the expectations of another who seems smarter, wealthier, nicer-looking, more successful, etc., we lose who we really are and do not see ourselves as God has intended us to be. This creates doubt within us to achieve our purpose.

5.) Life failure. A setback our failure in our goals and achievements can lead us to feel a tremendous loss of self-esteem and has the potential to crush our spirits and leave us feeling so drained and inadequate we are hardly capable of pushing forward.

These causes can lie dormant for years then blow up in your face. I urge you, loved one, to take a personal inventory. See if any of these areas may be affecting you today in your life. Can you relate to any of these situations?

If so, stop and release these feelings and situations to God. Ask Him to give you a forgiving heart towards another party who has hurt you, if applicable. Ask Him to forgive you for any hurt you may have caused. And just release these causes to Him. He is waiting for you dear one. He wants to smother you with love and affection and mercy so that you may feel like the beautiful, confident being He has created you to be.

There is freedom in Christ. You just need to go to the Lord in Jesus name and give Him these things which haunt you.

Remember: you may not know why you are feeling down and out, angry and frustrated, but He does. He knows every hair on your head. Go to God today do not wait another second and ask for Him to reveal to you that which is keeping you back. Ask Him to take back this ground which Satan has taken from you and ask God to have it. He will gladly take your burden, dear one.

No one deserves to live in shame or guilt or misery. You are a child of God and worthy of His love. Accept His invitation today!

In the Love of Christ,

Mary
