7To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 10That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties.
For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2Corinthians 12:7-11

God had revealed to me through this scripture that my thorn too at this time needs to stay. If to keep me faithful to Him and trusting only in Him instead of my worldliness.
God blesses us with family and friends in order for us to love but it does not mean that that love and/or respect...is necessarily going to be returned as we would like to be returned. We are all individuals. We grow and mature at different paces. Some of us have faith in God others seek faith in other things or people.
But we are called to do one thing. Love one another as Jesus loves us all. Unconditionally without judgment. Without wanting to return a hurtful word or action with a hurtful word or action. We are to boast of our weakness and give glory to God and be rejoiceful in our hard times even when we are being shamed or made a fool of.
It is hard, but when you really place your trust in God and think of the home He has waiting for us and the blessings He has in store for us now - it is so worth it.
Praise be to God!
