I am happy to say that I have failed many times. I rejoice in saying that I go through a lot of trials. I exult my inability to be perfect. And I am weak.
For in my weaknesses, He shall be glorified and made strong!
Today I read a story from my April edition of In Touch. "What Jesus Is After (....it might not be what you think) by Mary E. DeMulth. I was encouraged by this story. It was a story of what would seem to be failures to those that do not believe in Christ and God's mysterious ways of bringing us closer to Him.
The Lord knows us better than anyone for He created us. He knows what will drive us away from Him and what will bring us back to Him.
For weeks now I have been a yo-yo of emotions, allowing myself to believe that I have not listened to my Lord that I must have misunderstood His direction for me. After reading this story and speaking with my Lord, He said to me "See, Mary, you are a good and faithful servant. You have done as I have asked of you. These trials and failures are meant to be in your life in order to share my Word with others."
Some people have the gift of speech. Some people receive talents of artistry. And there are others, like myself, that are given the gift of faith. I have been given so many trials and mishaps in my life because the Lord knows that I can handle these in my life. That I am strong enough to overcome them. And in these times is when I show the greatest faith and love for my Lord. Proclaiming to everyone that the Lord has never let me do without. He has always been there for me. He is my biggest fan.
Do not allow yourself to be fooled by the enemy in thinking that God does not love you so therefore He allows so many problems in your life. Problems, trials and burdens are blessings in your life in order to prepare you for your next step. God knows what He is doing. He is building your character and making you stronger. He may not be using you for the purpose that you would desire but He is using you to build His kingdom. Do not resist. Allow Him to refine you. Accept your hard times and rejoice in them. Allow your burdens to rest with God in order to receive His goodness and to open to hear Him speak with you.
In God's Love, Mary
